unknownbeings.co.uk
A personal community based website to which I have sourced most of my self-taught web design skills.
It has carried me through the process kicking and screaming. Including media, design, and internet gems.
The design is media centric - photos; videos; and forums all have to be easily navigable via
a unified interface.
The latest version of unknownbeings is especially suited to the task. I made use of simple
and attractive content ‘boxes’ which are designed to attract attention to certain elements.
For example, the black polished boxes are used for the most important elements - such as titles
and content catagories. The white boxes are used for the main chunk of the actual worded content, such
as blog entries, and finally the green slim boxes are used for the additional tasks or information related
to its connecting box.
All the boxes can interconnect with each other to enable ‘bitesize chunks’ of data, bits
of which have indifferent priority over the other. This not only
helps to structure the data perfectly, but it also creates an attractive user experience. Every page
is strucured similarly and the same colours and boxes are repeated for use in all facets of the web
site, such as the header; navigation; and footers of each and every page.
